We have a good good Father!
Hello! I just wanted to share with you something that has been with me all week, that we have a God that loves us like a Father and He is good.
I have Heard this all my life, ever since sunday school but it is such an amazing experience to see that truth come alive in your life! I get goose bumps!
We are here at YWAM Kona, and it is a miracle, we are not 100% funded, and somehow we are here, but financially is a challenge for our family. We had to pay for each bag, so we managed to pack all of our stuff in two bags, that way we only paid for two checked bags on our flight. To do that, we left out towels, pillows, and sand toys, and so many other things. In my mind, I was going to get them in Kona, although I had very Little money to spend and it will probably be for the absolutely necessary. I had a list, and there were things we needed and things we would like to get and a third list of things it would be great to have but since they are for having fun didn't make the other two lists. We arrived thursday night, on friday our class leaders had clean towels and pillows for us! yeeihhh! and they mentioned a special place where all the other missionaries who have left leave their stuff to be used by another family and it's free. So we went to check it out, and....to my surprise, I found almost everything on my list! a pillow case, a knife to cut our fruit at home, cups and a kiddy's plate, books for Maclau to read, a floatie for the pool ! sand toys! and other things in my "need" list and "would like" list. Luis wanted a thing to dry our plates after washing them and he went back again the next day and found it! we went to the beach and it is rocky in some parts and it hurt our feet so we have been looking for prices for aqua shoes, and what do you think happened? we found two pairs ....our size! we even got a Little stool for Maclau to reach the bathroom sink! and my thought was to buy one at a store, but God Heard that and knew what I wanted for our daughter. And how amazing and loving He is that He has provided for what we needed, and for what we would like to have! now...you must be wondering....about the third list! Luis loves fishing and we had to sell his fishing stuff in Peru and he was sad, because he loves fishing and there are people fishing at the beach here and he had nothing to fish with! So I told him, maybe you need to start praying for that, because we are being extra careful with our expenses. Tonight, I came back home after a gathering and Luis said "look!" and on the table was a fishing pole thing and things to fish (I have no idea...but lots of different things), Luis had been talking to a Mexican missionary here, and told him about where could he get a second hand fishing pole, and he said "Luis, there is no need, a missionary left and gave me fishing things, I don't fish but he said to keep it and give it to someone who loves fishing....and that is you!" :O we are in awe! Because God knows that Maria Claudia loves to play in the sand, and had no toys, He knew exactly what we needed, and what we would like to have, and He knows our wallet, and yes we are here to go to class everyday and learn and study, but He loves children, and He loves families and He loves us, His children and He has shown us His faithful love this week. He has also provided nice Friends for Maclau! and we are so thankful! we are 4 families with 8 kids total in our class, and one of them is in Maclau's class! they are good Friends, and play together and we go to the beach with them and they are a huge blessing for Maclau and us. I can't wait to see Him more, and I'm happy we stepped out in faith, because He can only catch you if you jump, He can't catch you if you stay on the ground "safe", but then you miss out on experiencing how true and real God, our Father, is.
"for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Mathew 6:8
I have more to tell, but I thought I would divide it in different posts....:) hope you enjoy Reading our experiences, and our prayer is that you would be encouraged, and challenged to experience God in a real, tangible way. For He is a good, good Father and He loves us.
Standing on His grace,
The Choy family
