If I had a million dollars...
I am sure you have asked yourself this question at one point in your life. What would I do if I had a million dollars? How would you spend it? What would you do?
I sat down with a friend today and we talked about what are some of the plans in our wishlist for this year. We both wanted to go to Madang, Papua New Guinea. To serve the base there, he wants to help with constructions and maintenance projects. I want to help with the medical teams serving in the villages.
We talked about Panama, Fiji, being here in Kona for maintenance church teams and me for hosting a medical seminar. Then of course home: Canada and Peru. How do we fit it all? Funny, we talk about fitting it all when we don't have the funds to do all that flying! LOL. But here we are, dreaming, thinking out loud, saying I am willing and encouraging one another.
If I had a million dollars...I would fly to Papua New Guinea this summer and then go to Fiji to be a dentist for the outreaches where there is no dentist signed up in either of those countries yet. Then, I would use it to go to Peru for Christmas and be with my grandmas, having a cup of coffee and laughing with my aunties and cousins.
I would take my girlfriends out to the Mexican restaurant we like and finally order Fajitas instead of a happy hour entree split between us. :) I would buy Luis some fishing gear and I would sign up Maclau for gymnastics classes! I would love to fly to the Solomon's Islands to hug my friend who is there as a medical missionary. I would support amazing women and men of God who are fighting the good fight in different parts of the world! I would take Maclau to Disney World! I would go see my mom and friends in the mainland (continental US) I would buy a small house and a black labrador to cuddle and love! I could fly to serve in different islands in the Pacific and provide dental care more often!
We ended the conversation saying, Lord, we are here with our hands wide open saying we are willing to go! You are the owner of the gold and the silver. You can provide and do abundantly more than we can ever dream or imagine.
He is good. He is faithful. He sees us. He has called us.
Our family has said YES!
To be mobile, to be in a position to allow us to travel, to move light and without much complications. We say yes everyday, when we choose to live simple and light.
We don't want to miss any opportunity the Lord God has for our family. We want to invest in His kingdom.
When we say He is worthy of our time, our skills, our funds, our dreams and plans; We mean it.
Everything is from Him and for Him!
"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8
We can't take anything with us to eternity. We have enough. We are full of joy and peace and hope.
