A week full of Celebrations!
Hello!!!
It's been an exciting week! we were here at the University of the Nations campus for their 40th anniversary! and we had the opportunity to celebrate all together and give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness. It's exciting to see how one idea, one visión, has become a great gift from God to train missionaries to serve with faith and knowledge, for His glory.
We even got cake! Maclau was there for the whole presentation! and of course she got cake!
It has been a great week for our school too, on friday we had a baptism, and many of our Friends made this public ceremony to witness to us and the rest of the world that they have decided to follow Jesus. It was a great day! and we rejoice with them!
We also had a ministry campus fair, and it is so great to see so many ways we can reach out to people. From "first response aid", to "ywam ships", "heartbridge" DTS (which is for dancers, singers, actors), filming school, school of photography, the school of illustration, the wáter and energy school, writting school, "respect the corners" (for crossfit coaches) and different schools that need teachers for the kids who are here on campus. And it just comes to what Paul says in Corinthians, each member of the body of Christ is important and has a different task and role. And whatever your gifts or skills you have or don't have, you were made to love your Father God and shine His glory to others. If you want to know more about all the options check www.uofN.edu
We are only 2 weeks away from our trip and things are starting to get crazy! we have meetings, planning, coordinating stuff, and classes. We have been feeling a Little tired the last couple of days. And actually one night I woke up and suddenly my mind started to get thoughts, like "you can't do this" "maybe you just need to go back to Peru to your old life" "you don't know what will happen" "you can't do this, just go back" and in that moment, fear flooded my heart and I couldn't sleep, thinking what was going on?! in the morning, we got a class and the 4 points of the class was this:
1. God is good .....if God is good I can dream big
Psalms 34:8/ Psalms 145:9 / Hebrews 11:6 /Acts 10:38
2. Nothing is imposible with God....I can take risks
Mark 9:23 /Numbers 11:2-3/Numbers 23
3. He provides what I need.....I can trust Him
Mathew 8:16-17/ Isaiah 53:3 / Ephesians 1:3 / 1 Peter 2:24
4. I was made to be significant.....I can serve Him well
Isaiah 40:4
I know God is with me and He guides me, and the thoughts and fear were not coming from Him. So we just need to remember this four things, and God doesn't call us to be afraid, on the contrary....Jesus and His angels are always saying "Don't be afraid" before they say something else. God is good, and He is faithful and He loves us so we can totally trust Him with all our lives and every aspect of it. We had the honor to hear Dan Baumann in our class last week, and one thing he said captured my attention "The Christian life is about how good Jesus is more than it is about me getting right His guidance, it's not only spiritual. The most spiritual thing you can do is follow Jesus the next 5 minutes, everyday"
Let us be encouraged by God's love and may we live from the Father's approval and not for His approval. Because there is nothing we can do for God to love us less or more. He already loves us, right now as it is, just where you are. And we can enjoy that love always. He is really good and wants to do life with us. What an amazing thought! He does care about our Little things, our parents meeting at school, our soccer game with our Friends, He longs to spend time with us. He is that good! and He loves us that much!
We are excited to travel with our team to Cambodia, me....I'm a Little nervous about so many planes...(4 planes if you were wondering) but! happy and excited to start a new adventure with amazing people and Friends and ready to let God's love shine through us. If you want to be part of this adventure you can still make gifts to donate for this trip! by clicking on the following link https://universitynations.diamondmindinc.com/?AccountID=17212&StudentFirst=Luis%20Alberto%20&%20Claudia%20Irene&StudentLast=Choy
